The Glendale Heroes Regional Park is an 81-acre park featuring a variety of amenities.
In accordance with both state and federal guidelines, amenities in Glendale city parks will begin
reopening during the next week. Playground equipment and dog parks will reopen Saturday, May
16. Restrooms and splash pads will follow in late May. We are evaluating a May opening for skate
parks as well.
The city is looking to reopen other recreational facilities including the Foothills Recreation &
Aquatics Center in June. To ensure the safety of both guests and employees, we will make the final
decision on opening dates based on the latest health guidelines. The city will continue to evaluate
the COVID-19 situation before making a final decision on the opening of the Glendale Adult
Center. Protecting those most vulnerable to the virus will be the overriding factor in opening that
A no-fee, 26,000-square-foot, concrete multi-use (bikes, boards, blades) facility. Site Design Group, a leader in skate park design, created a facility that will provide challenges for skaters and bikers of various skill levels. The perfect balance of bowls, banks, transitions and street components make the design fun and wide open for both bikes and boards.
From the basic Ollie or Bunnyhop to perfecting the 9-foot bowl, there is no doubt the X-Court will be an exciting place for all of us to meet new friends and perfect our sport. This type of facility requires extra care and attention in its construction and California Skateparks, Inc., a well-known skate and BMX park construction company, took care of those special needs.

HEROES PARK SPLASH PAD

The City of Glendale has constructed a 16-lane practice and competition archery range for both novice and professional archers at Heroes Regional Park. Located near the existing Ramada Complex parking lot, the project opened in the fall of 2016. The facility features include a 47,000-square-foot area with gated perimeter fencing, 16 archery lanes, an earthen target backstop, shaded spectator areas and landscaping.
Hours: Sunrise to sunset
- Archers must provide their own equipment.
- Range has 16 lanes, six of which have targets and target stands.
- Heavy rains may cause the closure of the range.
- Range may be closed temporarily for routine maintenance.
- Range may be closed on Wednesday for major maintenance items.

LARGE GROUP RAMADA COMPLEX
The group picnic area contains ten covered ramadas, with each having nine tables seating eight people for a maximum of 72 people. The tables are wheel chair accessible. Total capacity for all ten ramadas is 720. Sound is allowed with reservation of all ten ramadas. Water is available. Each ramada has a grill, counter top/serving area and electrical receptacle.
