Glendale is a playground for the outdoor and athletic enthusiast. We welcome you to enjoy the miles of trails and acres of parks that Glendale has to offer. Love to hike? Then you’ll love Glendale. The city offers approximately 40 miles of hiking trails open from sunrise to sunset. Trails are expansive and not very demanding.
In accordance with both state and federal guidelines, amenities in Glendale city parks will begin reopening during the next week. Playground equipment and dog parks will reopen Saturday, May 16. Restrooms and splash pads will follow in late May. We are evaluating a May opening for skate parks as well.
The city is looking to reopen other recreational facilities including the Foothills Recreation & Aquatics Center in June. To ensure the safety of both guests and employees, we will make the final decision on opening dates based on the latest health guidelines. The city will continue to evaluate the COVID-19 situation before making a final decision on the opening of the Glendale Adult Center. Protecting those most vulnerable to the virus will be the overriding factor in opening that facility.
