As we visited the Sun Valley Animal Shelter, the following conversation between Dorothy the puppy and Dexter the kitten was overheard.
Dexter: “Dorothy, did you hear that?”
Dorothy: “What? What are our people talking about now? 'So ‘n’ so' was adopted, 'so ‘n’ so' had surgery…What else is new?”
Dexter: “No, all the talk is about the big event…The Sun Valley Animal Shelter Pet Expo!”
Dorothy: “What? Pet Expo? What is a Pet Expo?”
Dexter: “Our people are getting together other rescues that help animals like us without homes, some nice people that sell our food, toys and other fun things, plus some really nice people that help other people out.”
Dorothy: “Wow, how fun! I hope that helps us to find our furever homes? Are kids and families coming? I love kids and families. I want one of my own.”
Dexter: “Me too. I hope we all get a family of our own, I heard there are lots of kids and families coming!”
Please join Dorothy, Dexter and the Sun Valley Animal Shelter along with other rescues and charities on Sunday, April 27th, 2014 from 10 am to 4 pm. This free family event is sure to bring smiles and happiness to the West Valley.
There will be over 55 vendors including rescues, retail, kid’s activities and more. The Grilled Cheese Truck, Burgers Amore, Kona Ice, and Kettle Heroes will supply the great food for people and Papa Ed's with Frosty Paws for dogs. Other charities and vendors that will be there include Angels for Athletes, Soldier's Best Friend, AZK9, The Pet Club, Lorenzo's Dog Training, Bark Busters, Wildlife World Zoo plus many, many more. A raffle with donated items valued up to $850 and more, including a family four pack year membership to Wildlife World Zoo.
