Gather your friends and family for the 6th Annual Hometown Christmas Parade, this Saturday, Dec. 8th in Downtown Glendale, AZ. This is an old-fashioned community event for your entire family, with floats, marching bands and a special visit from the Big Guy himself - Santa Claus. The parade begins at 11:00 a.m. at 52nd Avenue south of Glendale Avenue. The route will proceed west on Glendale to 58th Avenue.  This Hometown Christmas Parade is produced by the non-profit organization Glendale Christmas Parade, made up of community members who share a passion for letting the true star of Christmas shine. It supports Operation Santa Claus and focuses on collecting non-perishable food items for the Glendale-based food bank, Hope for Hunger. Santa Claus may just be overshadowed by this year’s Grand Marshal: Luis Gonzalez. Widely known as “Gonzo”, he is an Arizona favorite for his years with the Arizona Diamondbacks.  He is most recognized for his game-winning hit in game seven where the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the New York Yankees in the 2001 World Series.
