Here in Arizona this time of year, most of us huddle indoors in the air conditioning all day long, but when the night rolls around, we venture out of doors to enjoy a little summer fun. Your evening summer fun should include a trip to Glendale’s Summer Band Concert Series! The eight-week concert series takes place each Thursday at 8 p.m., June 7 through July 26, in the E. Lowell Rogers Amphitheatre, located at 59th Avenue and Glenn Drive. Enjoy tunes from Big Band to Broadway and beyond – so there are selections for all different musical tastes – with each week featuring a different theme. Bring your chairs, blankets and family out for free fun and an evening under the stars!

Did you know The Glendale Summer Band is the longest-running community band in Arizona, now in its 52nd season, and is comprised of as many as 100 members, ranging from high-school-age to octogenarian? Many are students and others are former educators who continue to foster their love of music through this assemblage of musicians that continue to hold concerts every summer. They have a die-hard group of fans every week, and who knows? Once you go and become a fan, you’ll be back every week for summers to come, too!
