Kids Can Explore World of Construction and More at Annual Touch a Truck Oct. 22touch-a-truck-flyer

  Kids of all ages will enjoy discovering trucks, finding out how they run, climbing through them and exploring the worlds in which they work at Glendale’s Empire CAT Touch-a-Truck event on Saturday, Oct. 22. The family event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Westgate Entertainment District east parking lot, 6770 N. Sunrise Blvd. touch-a-truck-kids1 Commercial and industrial vehicles will include a tow truck, dump truck, commercial bucket loader, sanitation vehicle, backhoe and an 18-wheeler. In addition, the Glendale Police Bomb Squad truck and robot will be on site, as well as the US Forest Service with a fire vehicle. Sponsor Empire CAT will bring some special vehicles, as well. Find out exactly what a mini excavator, a skid steer, a motor grader and a wheel loader look like, and exactly what they do on a job site. Along with the trucks, there are special activities for children including a sand play area, a miniature roadway with toy vehicles called Tiny Tot Drivers and The Big Dig where children can try their hand at scooping sand with a contraption that works like a backhoe. touch-a-truck-kids2 Admission to this family event is FREE!
