There’s a holiday to celebrate just about anything you can dream up. Teddy Bear Day is no exception. Join the celebration of everyone’s favorite childhood friend — the Teddy Bear. Glendale, Arizona will celebrate National Teddy Bear Day on Saturday, September 11th with fluffy, furry, friendly teddy bear festivities throughout Historic Downtown Glendale.
The day has lots of family-friendly activities, some free and others cost a small fee. From decorating a chocolate teddy bear at the local candy factory, Cerreta’s, to make and takes, great themed photo ops, fanciful face painting and a meet and greet with Al the Bear, there is something for everyone.
Fuel up with special berry or "beary" menu items at many of the local eateries. On the menu, strawberry pancakes, teddy bear cake, berry "beary" floats, and teddy bear cookies, a great make, take and eat are just a few of the items available only on Teddy Bear Day.
Glendale’s Teddy Bear Day is an opportunity to support the first responders through the Teddy Trauma Program and the annual fund raiser for Arizona Search Dogs. This day gives you a chance to visit with Glendale's finest - Police and Fire Fighters as well as Maricopa County Sheriff's representatives. Kids can get up close to fire trucks and police cars. Now through the end of September you can purchase a teddy bear for $10 to be donated directly to the Trauma Teddy program. The teddy bears sold benefit the Glendale Fire and Police Departments, MCSO and Phoenix Fire and Police Departments.
We invite you to come down for a day of warm fuzzy fun. Begin at Memory Lane Trinkets and Treasures, 5836 W. Palmaire Avenue where you can pick up a walking map and the list of the "beary" special activities. A free event day shuttle will take you throughout downtown in air-conditioned comfort.
